The Ultimate Productivity Playlist: songs to play while working and studying

Music – it’s amazing how it can affect your mood. One minute you’re feeling like you can’t do anything productive, but play that one song and you feel like you’re on top of the world.

I actually feel like I work faster when music is on in the background – especially if it’s from a superhero soundtrack that makes me feel like I’m on my way to save the world with each word I type. The songs I usually listen to are ambient, have no lyrics, and play at 60-70 beats per minute. Tempo, I find, plays a huge role in whether or not I can focus with music on in the background.

Here are a few songs that help me get lost in my work and will, hopefully, help you too! (Most of them don’t have lyrics):

The Stars in Spring – Epic45

Intro – The xx

My Only Swerving – El Ten Eleven

Feel It All Around – Washed Out*

Greenland – Emancipator

The Air Between Us – Hammock

Presumptuous – Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein

The New Earth – Audiomachine (this is one of the songs that makes me feel like I’m saving the world)

The Queen of All Everything – Ott

Time – Hans Zimmer (all the music by Hans Zimmer, really).

Theme from Comet – Daniel Hart (all the Comet soundtrack is really good – if you haven’t seen the movie, I STRONGLY recommend it)

Catching Fireflies – The Soul’s Release

Waking Up – Explosions In The Sky

I have all these songs plus more on my Creative Energy playlist on Spotify.

What are some of your favorite songs to play when working or studying? I’d love to add them to my playlist!
